How Much Time Do I Need to Train?
As much time as you can give! We truly believe that training should flow with your life, so we will work around your schedule. More important than time is consistency, so as long as you can stay CONSISTENT with your training, we'll structure the schedule and time to fit your life and goals.
I Don't Race and I'm Just Looking to Improve My Overall Fitness. Do You Coach Athletes Like Me?
YES! Races are just one route of many different paths to motivate people to improve their health and the quality of their life. However, we have athletes who have goals very different from racing and every individual is welcome into our ROC Multisport community. Our ultimate goal for every athlete is lifelong health & overall wellness, and we work with you on whatever journey you want to take to get there!
I Am Not Sure Coaching Is for Me and I Am Afraid of a 6 or 12-month Commitment?
No problem at all! You pay by the month, so you can see if you like it in the first few months. We are also very open to your feedback to help adjust coaching to work for you. Additionally, we have different levels of plans to choose from, so you can choose the amount of involvement that you prefer from a coach.
Do I Need a Power Meter/ Heart Rate Monitor?
While these are very helpful tools, we will work with what you have, and discuss with you to determine the point in your training that would be best for you to incorporate these. We can begin tracking training simply with free apps on your phone and your feedback, and work up from there. We also use "RPE" as a tool for all athletes, which requires no metrics. How Does Online/Remote Coaching Work?
First and foremost, we establish a relationship between the coach & athlete over the phone or video conference. We use an application called TrainingPeaks which allows for the planning and follow-up to your training schedule & performance. TrainingPeaks syncs with most smart watches, so we can see specific data from your training. Additionally, we prefer more communication over less, so you're always welcome to reach out to the coach via email, text or scheduled call. For technique corrections, we do periodic video calls or analysis.
What Happens If I Need Time Off Because of an Injury?
We fully support this! Injuries need time to heal! Depending on the injury, we will either discuss putting a hold on coaching services, or help you through the injury by programming training that is beneficial to your healing process.
What If I Need Time Off for “Non-Medical Reasons?
We also fully support this- sometimes life happens! All you need to do is inform the coach and we will put a hold on coaching services, or adjust your training schedule accordingly. The coaching service hold applies if you need a month or more off from training, otherwise we will simply schedule your training around the time off.
What If I Already Have a TrainingPeaks Account?
We will send you a link to give us access to your account as a coach. It's a very simple, two-click process.
What Happens After I Sign Up Online?
We will contact you to get on a call or meet in person, and have a conversation about your training goals, life outside of training, and how we can best help you achieve success. From there, we will send goal-setting and background information forms, get you set up with a TrainingPeaks account and initial training sessions, and get you rolling on your multisport path towards what you wish to accomplish!
